I must say it’s great to make the transition from ‘student’ to ‘researcher’, I feel all important at my desk in the Postgraduate Office!

Have yet to pimp out my desk with pictures and gadgets, but enjoying the new laptop which we’ve all been given.

I agreed to the ambassadorial role for another year, and so anyone who is interested will be able to follow me and my blog in my first year of PhD research!

Taught my first seminar this morning, and it went well – a couple of hiccups, but there were good vibes around the room, and input from each and every student.

Otherwise, all my work is based around is applying for the funding for Malay language training, and settling into the general research culture. The open-plan office is excellent, with fellow researchers able to share ideas, and give each other advice.

And the ability to work round the clock in the office is invaluable for someone who works as flexibly as me.

I now need to update my student profile on this site, so bye for now!
