If you want an insider’s view of life in the School of Biomedical, Nutritional and Sport Sciences (SBNS), you’re in the right place! You’ll find event reviews, personal insights, school updates and all manner of bioscience scattered among these pages.
Through this blog, we aim to share the good work going on within our school, and show the wide array of activities performed by our students and staff. Our academics, technicians and administrative staff work hard to keep our degree programmes in TEF-gold shape while undertaking research and projects that have impact much wider than the confines of Newcastle University.
You’ll also find the voice of our students here. From SciComm Takeovers to SOLAR outreach, SBNS students are actively working to build diverse and rich collaborations both within our school and in our local communities. Student life isn’t all lectures and lab work, with many of our students involved with sporting, community building and creative projects. A growing number of our students are actively seeking out new experiences in the form of placement years, international exchanges and summer projects; we hope to share their adventures with you here!
SBNS sits within the Medical School at Newcastle University and is part of the Faculty of Medical Sciences. Founded in 1834, the Medical School is one of the largest in the UK. Our commitment to delivering consistently high quality, research-led teaching has seen the faculty expand to incorporate new schools and degree programmes alongside upgrades in our brand new state of the art teaching labs.
