However, as a reminder, there are more <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncl.ac.uk\/ncla\/about\/\">NCLA<\/a> events in May you can book, namely the annual <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncl.ac.uk\/ncla\/festival\/\">Newcastle Poetry Festival<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncl.ac.uk\/ncla\/courses\/item\/cschloedaykin.html\">last creative Saturday<\/a> before the summer break with the wonderful children&#8217;s author Chloe Daykin, an alumnus of MA in Creative Writing at Newcastle University.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Natalie Crick<\/strong> has had another great week. Two of her poems have been published in Issue 9 of the literary magazine <a href=\"https:\/\/www.confluencemagazine.co.uk\/confluence-issue-9?fbclid=IwAR1hX_-OQxHO20j2TgToOaQQ_4NL7Oq0CIPATxxN8iJGaNdSmBnZH1i6vaA\"><em>Confluence<\/em>.<\/a>\u00a0Another poem was published in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sacramentopoetrycenter.com\/publications\/the-tule-review\/tule-review-submission-guidelines\/\"><em>Tule Review<\/em>,<\/a> a literary publication of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sacramentopoetrycenter.com\/publications\/the-tule-review\/\">Sacramento Poetry Center.<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Another great week for <strong>Alexandra Corrin-Tachibana<\/strong>. When I heard that she had a poem <em>On your first day at Japanese Nursery\u00a0<\/em>published by<a href=\"https:\/\/eunoiareview.wordpress.com\/2019\/04\/01\/on-your-first-day-at-japanese-nursery\/?fbclid=IwAR1X7pvQ_IkQcZPNUnreYimLyiuqK5Q9mAy6OzI6UJWpxaSR0bV-tQM88co\"> Eunoia Magazine<\/a>, I was reminded of the words of Jacob Polley that an author needs to work hard but then he or she needs\u00a0a bit of luck and a champion who will help them to succeed. A few days later <em>Street Light <\/em>published two of her poems from the &#8216;Japan cycle&#8217;,\u00a0 <em><a href=\"https:\/\/streetlightmag.com\/2019\/04\/05\/my-bride-face-and-okasan-my-mother-in-law-2-poems-by-alexandra-corrin-tachibana\/\">My Bride Face<\/a><\/em> and <em><a href=\"https:\/\/streetlightmag.com\/2019\/04\/05\/my-bride-face-and-okasan-my-mother-in-law-2-poems-by-alexandra-corrin-tachibana\/\">Okasan: my Mother-in-law<\/a>.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It has been a great week for two of our authors who are already regarded and successful poets even before they graduate.
