In Response to Bewick<\/b>\u00a0Exhibition opens Thursday 29 January 2015<\/b><\/p>\n

The exhibition takes place in the public art space of the\u00a0Gateshead\u00a0Civic Centre and will be\u00a0showing\u00a0until the end of March.\u00a0 Car parking is available at the Civic Centre, which can be found using the postcode NE8 1HH. If using public transport, the Civic Centre is around four minutes walk from\u00a0Gateshead\u00a0Interchange.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

WALK, with support from\u00a0Gateshead\u00a0Council, The\u00a0Bewick\u00a0Society and the Natural History Society ofNorthumbria,\u00a0using\u00a0funding\u00a0from a Sharing Heritage grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund, has, since July 2014,\u00a0been managing\u00a0a project called\u00a0To\u00a0<\/i>Bewick<\/i>\u00a0and Back: From\u00a0<\/i>Cherryburn<\/i>\u00a0into History<\/i>.\u00a0The project celebrates the work of Thomas\u00a0Bewick\u00a0and his influence as a natural historian, using public exhibitions of\u00a0Bewick\u2019s \u2018wood engravings\u2019, lectures, guided walks\u00a0and by stimulating art, that has grown from an experience of\u00a0Bewick\u2019s landscape. The\u00a0‘In Response to Bewick<\/b>\u00a0Exhibition’\u00a0<\/b>comprises new pieces\u00a0by eight artists all of whom took part in the\u00a0To\u00a0<\/i>Bewick<\/i>\u00a0& Back<\/i>\u00a0walks in August and September 2014.<\/p>\n
