Three fully funded PhD studentships, led by\u00a0academics from CESER, are available in topics that address water and climate engineering:<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0Vulnerability of shallow groundwater and surface water resources used for irrigation in rural communities in Sub-Saharan Africa to climate variability and change.<\/a><\/em><\/h5>\n

<\/em>2.\u00a0Will catchment scale afforestation for mitigating flooding significantly reduce water resource availability and productive farmland?<\/em><\/a><\/h5>\n
<\/h5>\n
3.\u00a0Attribution of climate risks in urban areas for the design of adaptation pathways.<\/em><\/a><\/h5>\n

Each Doctoral Training Award is for \u00a320,000 per annum. This award is sufficient to cover home(UK)\/EU fees and a contribution to an annual stipend (living expenses). \u00a0Applications from outside the EU are welcome but must note the stipend will be reduced according to the difference in tuition fees. Applications will be considered as they are received, until 18th August 2014 or sooner if the awards are made before this date. \u00a0Applicants must be able to start the PhD in September.<\/p>\n
