Travel

You can fly direct into Newcastle International Airport from London, Amsterdam and Paris. If you fly into London, Glasgow, Edinburgh or Manchester, you can easily reach Newcastle by train.

Newcastle is a very walkable city, with a metro and bus service. Uber and a number of taxi services operate in the city.

Accommodation

There are lots of hotels in Newcastle. You can search for hotels that meet your needs using the NewcastleGateshead Initiative (NGI)’s online directory and search tool. There are also many other options in the city, including major UK hotel chains (Travelodge, Premier Inn, etc.) and hostels. If you’re not sure where to start, I’d recommend checking out booking.com (a European travel website that’s a bit like AirBnB, but mostly for hotels and hostels). If you’re on a budget, Newcastle Central Travelodge and Newcastle City Centre (The Gate) Premier Inn are both part of established hotel chains and are very cheap. Both are conveniently located near the train station (and an approximately 20-25 minute walk from the Percy Building on campus).
