The majority of theses submitted in the School of Computing Science from 1966 to the present date are now available online, thanks to a collaboration between the School, who funded the scanning of their older theses, the Robinson Library and the British Library. The theses are individually indexed and linked to in LibrarySearch or you can search and browse them all from the Library’s eTheses webpage or directly as part of the British Library’s Ethos database. A full list, including author, title and abstract and links to the Library’s full text collection can also be found on the School of Computing Science webpages. Newer theses from 2013 onwards will be added as they become available.
We have re-activated the School’s membership of the VMWare Academic Programme (VMAP). This provides members of the School with free access to lots of VMWare software, including VMWare Workstation for Windows and Linux; VMWare Fusion for Mac and vSphere Enterprise.
The terms of the agreement state that the software must be used for instruction, for use by students as part of their learning or non-commercial research. The School’s renewed agreement will last until 2017 when we will need to review it.
For more information, including how to request copies of software under this agreement, please see the CS Support Wiki’s page on the topic.
