{"id":44,"date":"2020-07-06T10:36:57","date_gmt":"2020-07-06T09:36:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/cosmology\/?page_id=44"},"modified":"2023-01-30T13:45:13","modified_gmt":"2023-01-30T13:45:13","slug":"fellowships","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/cosmology\/fellowships\/","title":{"rendered":"Fellowships"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The School of Mathematics, Statistics and Physics at Newcastle University welcomes applications for postdoctoral fellowships to be hosted here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Senior Fellowships<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are interested in applying for either:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>&nbsp;the <a href=\"https:\/\/stfc.ukri.org\/funding\/fellowships\/ernest-rutherford-fellowship\/\">STFC Ernest Rutherford Fellowship<\/a>, or<\/li><li> the <a href=\"https:\/\/royalsociety.org\/grants-schemes-awards\/grants\/university-research\/\">Royal Society University Research Fellowship<\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>to be hosted at Newcastle University, please submit a preliminary application by the <strong>deadline of July 17th, 2022<\/strong>. You must hold a PhD (or equivalent experience) by the start of the fellowship and there is no limit on number of years of postdoctoral experience, but it is aim at postdoctoral level. Fellowships are for three years. As there is closing date, if you are interested in applying to be hosted by the School of Maths, Stats &amp; Physics please get in touch with <a href=\"mailto:Jarlath.mckenna@newcastle.ac.uk\">Jarlath.mckenna@newcastle.ac.uk<\/a> <strong>at any time<\/strong> (well in advance of aiming to apply). Please encourage applicants through your networks, including outside of Newcastle University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.leverhulme.ac.uk\/early-career-fellowships\" target=\"_blank\">Leverhulme Trust Early Career Fellowship<\/a> and <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The School of Maths, Stats &amp; Physics is soliciting expressions of interest to apply to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.leverhulme.ac.uk\/early-career-fellowships\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Leverhulme Trust Early Career Fellowship<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/royalcommission1851.org\/fellowships\/research-fellowships\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Royal Commission of 1851 Research Fellowship<\/a> schemes. Both schemes are aimed at early stage postdoctoral researchers, between about to complete their PhD and typically not more than 4 and 3 years post PhD, respectively. Each fellowship is for three years.
