Meet our member: Newcastle Hospitals Trust Clinical Research Directorate (NuTH CRD)

At NuTH CRD our infrastructure includes the NIHR Clinical Research Facility, the Sir Bobby Robson Cancer Trials Research Centre, and close links with the Biomedical Research Centre, enabling both early-phase and large-scale trials across a wide range of conditions.

We have over 400 dedicated research staff working across clinical specialties and embedding research into everyday care. Through our Public Partnership work we aim to ensure:

  • All patients are aware of the value of clinical research and the benefits of research participation.
  • All patients will be routinely invited to participate in relevant clinical research.
  • Patients will be involved in the development, design and planning of research activities.
  • All research participants will have the opportunity to share their experience of research, and feedback will drive improvements.

You can contact us to:

  • Explore research partnerships – work with us on clinical trials, translational research, and innovation to improve patient care;
  • Get support for study design and delivery – access guidance on governance, funding, setup, and management through our research office;
  • Engage with specialist facilities – connect with our research centres and clinical research teams to develop and run high-quality studies.

Area that we cover:
