Creating Connections has two main groups: a Core Group and a Network Group. Each group meets every 2 months. Membership is free, and open to all (including people who work in PPIE-related roles, researchers, public contributors, and voluntary and community sector groups).
Core Group
Membership: Typically, anyone whose role focuses mainly on coordinating or facilitating public involvement and community engagement in health and social care research in the North East and North Cumbria.
This group shares best practice across our different organisations to avoid duplication, co-funds and co-develops training and other initiatives, drives our collaborative work around novel and more diverse, sustainable PPI models, identifies and campaigns to lower barriers that limit involvement, and more.
Network Group
Membership: Typically, anyone whose role partially focuses on or who has an interest in public involvement and community engagement in health and social care research in the North East and North Cumbria.
This group offers an opportunity to find out more about the broad range of involvement and engagement initiatives that are taking place across the region, to share best practice, to connect with others with shared interests or aims, to raise questions and access peer support, to contribute to the collaborative work described under the Core Group section, and more.
