Cassie Building rooms 2.32 and 2.33 are currently being refurbished.
Teaching room 2.33 is being decorated and fitted with new AV equipment to bring it up to current standards and Lecture Theatre 2.32 is being reconfigured to provide improved accessibility (including wider doors and a new induction loop) and will be fitted with collaborative ‘turn-and-learn’ style seating which can be viewed here: Cassie 2.32: New Layout

29/07/2019 – High Level Works in Herschel
The high level works including new ventilation, lighting, ceilings and decoration are nearing completion. The scaffolding crash-decks will be removed from Thursday 1st August.
Installation of the new acoustic panelling has also commenced in Lecture Theatre 1.
The first fix power and data installation is also complete and once the crash decks are removed, the new raised floors will be installed.
09/07/2019 – Change to Herschel Building Lecture Theatre’s 1, 2 and 3
Following strip out and investigative works in the lecture theatres, it has not been possible to channel the floor for new cabling as expected and an alternative solution has been worked up to overcome the unforeseen issue. This will allow the lecterns to be relocated and desk-top power to be installed as originally planned.
The revised proposal includes raising the floor of all three lecture theatres by 100mm to accommodate the new cabling beneath. Ramped access will be installed at all entrances with automatic doors (operated by push pads).
The revised layout can be viewed here: Herschel_Revised Layout
The project remains on programme with the first bookings scheduled for Monday 23rd September 2019.
