09/07/2019 – Change to Herschel Building Lecture Theatre’s 1, 2 and 3

Following strip out and investigative works in the lecture theatres, it has not been possible to channel the floor for new cabling as expected and an alternative solution has been worked up to overcome the unforeseen issue. This will allow the lecterns to be relocated and desk-top power to be installed as originally planned.

The revised proposal includes raising the floor of all three lecture theatres by 100mm to accommodate the new cabling beneath. Ramped access will be installed at all entrances with automatic doors (operated by push pads).

The project remains on programme with the first bookings scheduled for Monday 23rd September 2019.
