Just a reminder that there are lots of sets of instructions for how to download references from different electronic resources on the Endnote web pages
If your favourite resource isn’t there please let us know and we’ll see if we can add it

Another reminder that there is a glitch which we haven’t been able to solve which means Endnote and Word don’t work together on RAS if you open Endnote first. However, they work fine if you open Word first – it will then automatically open Endnote and you can then connect to Endnote via the Endnote toolbar in Word as normal.
Just a reminder that if you have used an earlier version of Endnote, when you use Endnote X you may get a messsage saying “Generic Service Error” – often when downloading from external resources, but also during other operations. You can usually fix this by running the “Fix my endnote profile” script – in RAS it’s in the Biobliog software folder and on the main clusters go to Start, Database Software, Endnote, Profile fix.
If you use Endnote on RAS, you’ll notice that it has been upgraded to include even more styles – 3287 instead of 2314. In the process our special amended styles have been overwritten, but they will be back very soon. You can download Harvard at Newcastle from our web pages if you need to in the meantime. The network version of Endnote will also be upgraded to include the new styles very soon.
When using WoS with Internet Explorer, when you try to download records to EndNote it sometimes seems as if the search hasn’t worked and just hangs. This is because IE blocks the site – look carefully and you’ll see an extra bar has appeared near the top of the screen which says “IE has blocked this site from downloading files to your computer” Click for Options and choose “Download the file”. Then you have to repeat your search. This doesn’t happen using the Firefox browser. I’m not technical enough to know if this can be fixed, but I’m asking!
