  1. Q…How do I find a workstation.
    A…There are 64 workstations located within the first and second floors of the Agriculture building. Any workstation can be occupied by anyone. Simply find a vacant space and log in. In the near future there will be a display screen indicating which workstations are occupied.
    Q…Is there a booking system in place for the workstations.
    A…No, we want to see if we can manage without a formal desk booking system as this could complicate how we manage our day.
    Q…Can I use a laptop and do my work at one of the collaborative work spaces.
    A…Yes. Pick up one of the laptops, make sure you have your profile downloaded and work wherever you need to. If you are just in for a short time you are better off using a laptop rather than logging in to a workstation.
    Q…Do I have to clear my workstation every time I leave.
    A…No. You can leave you workstation for up to 90 minutes with clearing your desk. This gives you time to attend meetings site visits etc.
    Q…Can I eat at my desk.
    A…No, you can have a drink at your desk, but eating must be within the designated rest or break out areas.
    Q…Where can I store my files.
    A…There is storage for working files located around the office and archive space in the basement and off site at Team Valley. You will find your reliance on paper files becomes less and your will store electronically….most documentation comes in electronically anyway.
    Q…How to I book a meeting room.
    A…All meeting rooms will be bookable on Outlook or through the Customer Services & Admin team.
    Q…Do I need to book a space at one of the collaborative or break our spaces.
    A…No. Thee spaces are freely available and can be used for project and informal meetings or simply working from a laptop.
    Q…I need to concentrate on an important piece of work, where can I work that is quiet.
    A…There are four quiet working desks on the second floor which are situated in their own room, there are no telephones in the room which will allow you to concentrate on your work. You could also consider working form home, or booking our one of the smaller meeting rooms for a short period of time.
    Q…What if I need to make a confidential telephone call.
    A…There are a number of DECT phones which can be used wirelessly, simply go to a quiet space or a meeting room to make the call.
    Q…Do I have to work from home.
    A…No, but it is an option open to everyone.
    Q…How will I know where the other members of my team are sitting.
    A…There will be a bedding in period where you will need to adjust to the new way of working and that you are not always in the same place. You will always be able to contact other members of your team through instant messenger.
    Q…Will the office be noisy.
    A…The office will be open plan, but staff will be expected to talk in a quiet manner and not shout across desk etc. Protocols are in place which everyone should respect. It’s no different to any other open plan office such as King’s Gate for example.
