{"id":1712,"date":"2021-11-28T19:06:42","date_gmt":"2021-11-28T19:06:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/fineartcommunityboard\/?p=1712"},"modified":"2021-11-28T19:08:23","modified_gmt":"2021-11-28T19:08:23","slug":"open-studios-2021","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/fineartcommunityboard\/2021\/11\/28\/open-studios-2021\/","title":{"rendered":"OPEN\u00a0STUDIOS 2021"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>OPEN\u00a0STUDIOS<\/strong>\u00a0is a great opportunity for our Fine Art community to come together and share some of the incredible work taking place in the department.<br>If you have not been involved before this is when we tidy up\u00a0<strong>ALL of the\u00a0studios (UG and MFA)<\/strong>\u00a0and you present work in progress in your\u00a0studio\u00a0space. This year it also coincides with the second week of the Year 4 Interim shows that take place in the all bookable spaces \u2013 so lots of exciting stuff happening everywhere in the building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p><br>We then have a wonderful night of going around the department, looking at everyone\u2019s work and talking to one another. \u00a0 You can even invite people from outside of the department to come in and join us if you want to. There will be a bar, and as\u00a0Open\u00a0Studios this year is the last Thursday before Christmas break we can also combine the evening with a bit of a\u00a0Christmas celebration.\u00a0So bring a bit of tinsel too!\u00a0(Contact 4th years if you want to help with the bar).<br>Open\u00a0studios is a social event &#8211; not an assessment event \u2013 it is entirely up to you what you present in your space. This might include sketchbooks, documentation, work in progress or completed pieces? As we have assessments taking place in the 1st week back after Christmas break it will also mean we have lovely tidy spaces to return to ready to present work for assessment.\u00a0<br>Health &amp; Safety and Security:\u00a0<strong>You need to have your space ready by 3.30pm on Thursday 16th for a Health and Safety walk around<\/strong>\u00a0by Joe &#8211; so think carefully about any equipment you may need and any health &amp; safety checks and risk assessments you may need to organise. If you are not sure then speak to your tutor or module leader. \u00a0Be especially careful of running electric cables across walkways and blocking fire corridors and exits.<br>You are responsible individually for your own work so you need to check any electrical equipment you are using and \u2013 very importantly \u2013 turn it off at the end of the event.
