{"id":428,"date":"2013-03-07T12:28:17","date_gmt":"2013-03-07T12:28:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/icamblog\/?page_id=428"},"modified":"2013-03-07T12:28:17","modified_gmt":"2013-03-07T12:28:17","slug":"faq","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/icamblog\/faq\/","title":{"rendered":"FAQ"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We welcome contributions to the blog from anyone in ICaMB and beyond.\u00a0 This can\u00a0be about any subject, although research or issues confronting ICaMB, \u00a0students and\/or researchers is generally expected.\u00a0We don&#8217;t mind\u00a0controversy &#8211; although usual rules of libel and slander will apply.\u00a0Articles from PIs, postdocs, PhD students, undergraduates, technical and\u00a0administration staff are welcome!<br \/>\nAbove all, we are looking for posts that\u00a0are interesting and informative.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/icamblog\/faq\/peer-review-cartoon\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-433\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-433\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/icamblog\/files\/2013\/03\/peer-review-cartoon-300x192.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"192\" \/><\/a>One area we are very keen to highlight are publications from scientists in ICaMB.\u00a0If you have an interesting paper coming out (or that has recently been published) please let us know.<\/p>\n<p>Here are some guidelines for what we are be looking for:<\/p>\n<p><strong>1. general appeal:<\/strong> does it have a human interest? can you link to<br \/>\neveryday life in a meaningful way? would your friends or family want to hear about it?<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. impact in your field:\u00a0<\/strong>does it break new boundaries, gives new insight, reveals new mechanisms?<\/p>\n<p><strong>3. open access:\u00a0<\/strong>if we can link to something everyone can read, we can get<br \/>\nmuch more attention and people will get more from it.
