You will be aware that all our PGR students are required to log at least one meeting with their supervisor on ePortfolio every month and their supervisor needs to sign this off. So far, our main focus for monitoring monthly supervisory meetings was on International students – more in particular those students residing in the UK on a Tier 4 visa following Home Office regulations.
Monthly supervisory meeting recordings are a key requirement for all our PGR students and is part of your annual progress, so we will monitor all students in the same way. Logging your meetings and asking your supervisor to confirm them is only a matter of ticking boxes and shouldn’t take more than a few minutes of your time.
Also bear in mind that whether you are away from the university as part of your project (outside study), to write up or correct your thesis and/or if you’ve gone back into clinical rotation, you will still need to log a monthly meeting up to the moment of completing your studies. Even though we encourage face to face meetings, we appreciate this isn’t always possible, so e-mail or skype are acceptable too.
