Some students will\u00a0be able\u00a0to spend time in a different university or research facility either within the UK or abroad. We encourage students to take this opportunity, but would like to point out a couple of things you should take into account beforehand.<\/p>\n
The term “outside study” applies to all work\/study related to your research degree which you’ll be performing away from Newcastle University campus for a period of more than four weeks. Before you leave, you have to complete some documents so we have all the information in case anything should happen. These are the outside study form<\/a> and the risk assessment<\/a> (for insurance purposes).<\/p>\n Basically what we need to know, is the following:<\/p>\n International students on a Tier 4 visa will be allowed outside study for up to 12 months without risking their visa being curtailed.
