{"id":799,"date":"2019-05-22T15:08:22","date_gmt":"2019-05-22T14:08:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/icmresearchfunding\/?p=799"},"modified":"2019-05-22T15:08:22","modified_gmt":"2019-05-22T14:08:22","slug":"register-for-getting-those-grants-two-day-workshop-mon-tues-15-16-july","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/icmresearchfunding\/2019\/05\/22\/register-for-getting-those-grants-two-day-workshop-mon-tues-15-16-july\/","title":{"rendered":"REGISTER for Getting those Grants two-day Workshop: Mon &amp; Tues 15 &amp; 16 July"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We are running our Getting those Grants training course on <strong>Monday and Tuesday 15 &amp; 16 July 2019<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>This two day training workshop focuses on writing effective research funding applications and is open to any member of academic staff (lecturer onwards and research fellows) who would like to find out more about this or to refine their approach to applying for research funding.<\/p>\n<p>(Please note that there may be a small number of places available for research associates).<\/p>\n<p>The workshop focuses upon UK Research Council funding applications but the principles may be applied to any funding application.<\/p>\n<p>The workshop is facilitated by the three Faculties\u2019 Research Funding Development Managers and will cover:<\/p>\n<p>*\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 the current funding landscape<\/p>\n<p>*\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 insights into the peer review system<\/p>\n<p>*\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 finding funding<\/p>\n<p>*\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 preparing your case for support<\/p>\n<p>*\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 showing value for money in your justification of resources<\/p>\n<p>*\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 writing effective pathways to impact statements<\/p>\n<p>*\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 making the most of your research environment description<\/p>\n<p>*\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 preparing your research CV<\/p>\n<p>The workshop is interactive and you will participate in exercises examining real-life examples of funding applications.\u00a0 You will be joined by participants from the three Faculties.<\/p>\n<p>You will need to be available to attend the full two days of the workshop, which is held in the training room at the <strong>Dove Marine Laboratory, Cullercoats (from 09:30 until 16:00).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This workshop is always oversubscribed, so we may need to invite some applicants to attend later workshops.<\/p>\n<p>Please note that this Workshop is primarily designed for academic members of staff and fellows and any places remaining are allocated to PDRAs after registration closes.<\/p>\n<p>If you would like to attend, <strong>please complete the booking form<\/strong> on the University\u2019s Organisational Development website (Home: Courses: Research: Research \u2013 Workshops: OPRE88) at:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/elements.ncl.ac.uk\/course\/view.php?id=925\">https:\/\/elements.ncl.ac.uk\/course\/view.php?id=925<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Please note that the Workshop will be repeated at approximately quarterly intervals and registration links will be sent out nearer the time of each individual workshop.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We are running our Getting those Grants training course on Monday and Tuesday 15 &amp; 16 July 2019.
