This workshop will introduce how to create a data management plan (DMP) to communicate a project\u2019s approach to managing research data to the funder and collaborators.\u00a0 This is also beneficial for the project as it establishes the framework and resources to support researchers and the data, which translates to better time management and lower costs during project work.<\/p>\n<p><strong>At the end of the workshop participants will be able to:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Understand the wider research data management landscape<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Appreciate funder DMP requirements<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Define what to include in a DMP<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Be able to develop a project specific DMP<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Understand what tools the university provide to support research data management (particularly <a href=\"https:\/\/data.ncl.ac.uk\/\">data.ncl<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Know where to find research data management support<\/p>\n<p>Booking form for interested colleagues: <a href=\"https:\/\/elements.ncl.ac.uk\/course\/view.php?id=873\">https:\/\/elements.ncl.ac.uk\/course\/view.php?id=873<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Key details: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Time:\u00a0 12- 1 pm<\/p>\n<p>Date: Wednesday 10th July<\/p>\n<p>Location: Devonshire, G. 20<\/p>\n<p>(The booking is being run through OD&#8217;s new LMS and this requires a cost centre to be included as part of the booking process.)<\/p>\n<p>I also run two other DMP workshops with a slightly different funder focus on Wed 26<sup>th<\/sup> June 12-1pm (<a href=\"https:\/\/elements.ncl.ac.uk\/course\/view.php?id=875\">https:\/\/elements.ncl.ac.uk\/course\/view.php?id=875<\/a>) and Wed 3<sup>rd<\/sup> July 12-1pm (<a href=\"https:\/\/elements.ncl.ac.uk\/course\/view.php?id=876\">https:\/\/elements.ncl.ac.uk\/course\/view.php?id=876<\/a>) that researchers can attend if the date is more suitable as the core content is the same.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Workshop on creating a data management plan (MRC &amp; BBSRC focus) for researchers on Wednesday 10th July.
