To mark this occasion, the Institute for Genetic Medicine at Newcastle University recently organised a \u2018flash\u2019 writing competition celebrating how our understanding about DNA and genetics has influenced lives.<\/p>\n<p>Entrants from secondary schools across the North East have submitted short stories (or other prose).We have been delighted by the not only the number of entries but the overall creativity.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Currently, we are judging all the entries and will be announcing the winners in due course.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You can find more about the judging criteria <strong><a title=\"how to enter\" href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/igmengagement\/about\/how-to-enter\/\">here.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Thank you to everyone who took the time to submit an entry.
