Windows users will need to download some additional software. We recommend PuTTY<\/a><\/p>\n Mac and Linux users should be familar with their Terminal software.<\/p>\n We are assuming that, since you are connecting to linux servers on a regular basis, you have already registered with NUIT for access to their Unix Time Sharing service<\/a>. Windows users should run PuTTY. In host name, enter unix.ncl.ac.uk\r\nclick Open button\r\nEnter your University login\/password when prompted.\r\nNote that you may get a Access denied message after\r\nyou have entered your University login but that you are still\r\nprompted for your University password. Enter this as normal,\r\nas that error message seems to be an anomaly.<\/pre>\n
