Be patient.<\/p>\n<p>RAS labels the S: drive as \u201cFLOWCF (\\\\campus.ncl.ac.uk\\scratch\\IHGSCRATCH)\u201d\u2026 and it labels the R: drive as \u00a0\u201cFLOWCF (\\\\campus.ncl.ac.uk\\igm)\u201d<\/p>\n<p>If these are missing, click on Computer icon<br \/>\nClick \u2018Map network drive\u2019 option<br \/>\nChange Drive: to S<br \/>\nChange folder to: <a href=\"https:\/\/campus.ncl.ac.uk\/scratch\/IHGSCRATCH\/FLOWCF\">\\\\campus.ncl.ac.uk\\scratch\\IHGSCRATCH\\FLOWCF<br \/>\n<\/a>tick the \u2018reconnect at logon\u2019 box<br \/>\nclick Finish button<\/p>\n<p><strong>IMPORTANT!<\/strong> Right-click on some white space, within that window, and choose \u201crefresh\u201d from the menu. The S: drive will now appear.<\/p>\n<p>Repeat this for the R: drive by clicking on the \u00a0\u201cMap network drive\u2019 option<\/p>\n<p>Change Drive: to R<br \/>\nChange folder to:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/campus.ncl.ac.uk\/igm\/flowcf\">\\\\campus.ncl.ac.uk\\igm\\flowcf<br \/>\n<\/a>tick the \u2018reconnect at logon\u2019 box<br \/>\nclick Finish button<\/p>\n<p><strong>IMPORTANT!<\/strong>\u00a0Right-click on some white space, within that window, and choose \u201crefresh\u201d from the menu. The R: drive will now appear.<\/p>\n<p>The drives shown under the \u201cNetwork Location\u201d section are your University mapped drives, and these include your H: drive (labelled as \u201cDocuments\u201d). You may also have an Institute drive (the IGM uses the Z: drive and this provides access to Institute shared folders and our groups research folders).<\/p>\n<p>The section labelled \u201cOther\u201d contains access to the local drives associated with your off campus computer, the one you are logging into RAS with. These drives will vary but they will usually include your computer\u2019s C: drive \u2013 often labelled as \u201cLocal Disk\u201d \u2013 and any portable drives or USB sticks attached to your computer. Explore these local drives by double-clicking on them so that you become familiar with where things are stored on your local computer. You will be asked about giving RAS permission to access these particular drives \u2013\u00a0\u00a0it\u2019s just a precaution.<\/p>\n<p>To copy data from the University to your off campus computer, double-click on the relevant drive under \u201cNetwork Location\u201d until you find the folder\/file you are looking for. Right-click on this file\/folder, and from the pop-up menu, select \u2018Copy\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Now double-click on the relevant drive under \u201cOther\u201d. Note that you will be asked about giving RAS permission to access this local drive.\u00a0Now find somewhere appropriate to store this data and right-click on the location.
