The Sayer Lab is based in the Institute of Genetic Medicine, Newcastle University.

The aim of the groups’ research is to characterisea group of inherited kidney diseases known as ciliopathies. By understanding these diseases in terms of their genetics and pathophysiology we hope find potential therapeutic targets. We use the latest techniques to understand cilia biology including 3D cell culture systems, zebrafish and murine models.
