{"id":14,"date":"2015-10-20T20:55:45","date_gmt":"2015-10-20T19:55:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/labourandsociety\/?page_id=14"},"modified":"2021-03-01T09:57:06","modified_gmt":"2021-03-01T09:57:06","slug":"home-2","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/labourandsociety\/","title":{"rendered":"Home"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Labour and Society Research Group (LSRG) was established in 2009 by academics from Newcastle University and Northumbria University.\u00a0It is a multidisciplinary forum of scholars who share an interest in the histories, sociologies and geographies of labour.<\/p>\n<p>Our inclusive and dynamic group are concerned with new and established directions in labour history, including, but not restricted to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Oral history<\/li>\n<li>Biography<\/li>\n<li>Labour subjectivities (the senses, emotions, cognition, and memory)<\/li>\n<li>Place, the state, and transnationalism<\/li>\n<li>Ideas and political theory (socialism, nationalism, religion)<\/li>\n<li>Labour institutions (press, trade unions, parties, cooperatives)<\/li>\n<li>Labour and the everyday (class, race, gender, death, work, and leisure)<\/li>\n<li>Labour and social theory<\/li>\n<li>Labour, contentious politics, and social movement theory<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We are always open to inter- and multi-disciplinary collaborations within and beyond the university.
