Overview
Once I had completed my blog I had to write a report and in this report I will feature the steps taken for creating the blog and what struggles I had to overcome as well as what I found easy.
Report
On creating this blog and typing the reviews I have both struggled and found parts easy. In order for me to create the blog I first had to come up with a name and that was fairly easy. I just thought what it is I am doing and basically used that as the name. The next step I took was writing my first post so that the homepage was not bare and had a bit of me on there to reflect myself onto the website, this was so it was more personalised and so I knew what I would do. My next step was to create a page for my reviews to be posted on so they could easily be accessed if the drop down box was not available. Creating this page was quite easy and I had no bother doing so. Writing the actual reports, now this was a little trickier as I had to think about what I was going to write and how I would structure my reviews. When typing up my reviews I had to research how to reference as I included small entries from the website the learning tool was from in order to get accurate information. This is where I struggled as at first I did not know how to reference this way as I had not done so previously. After I had adapted to referencing in this way the review became a bit easier to write as I could adapt information. This allowed give credit to the source and take images that would help me show how the learning tool works. Once I had completed my reviews I discovered you could make a page a sub page of a parent page so a link to the page would appear in the drop down box of reviews across the top menu bar. The next step was deciding to customise my blog, I liked the minimalist look of the theme I was currently using so I left that as it was. However I did feel the off white background was not that great and discovered this was easily changed so I picked a darker colour in order to get the middle of the page to pop so that the review would stand out. The header photos however I believed look good and chose to keep them as they were as they are not related to the name of the blog but provide a clean professional look that a outstretched or blurred photo may not posses. After completing this I then thought that using the post option on the homepage would allow me to make the homepage seem a bit more user friendly. I posted about how the review for the first learning tool was out in one review and game a link as well as stating another way you can access the reviews so they knew how to making it more user friendly. I also decided to give a small overview about what the review was about. An about me page was also needing to be typed and this was hard to type as I did not know what I should say so I re-read the specification and knew what to do. I gave a small overview about me and what I was studying, I then began to talk about what I would like to progress onto after my degree and what I would like to become in that profession as I gain experience.
