Library visit to Dove Cottage, 11 July 2007
The Library visit this summer will be to Dove Cottage in Grasmere – home to the Romantic poet William Wordsworth (1170-1850) – and will take place on Wednesday 11 July.
The visit will include:
A talk from Jeff Cowton, Curator, in the Jerwood Centre rotunda – here the lifetime editions are housed – and a chance to look behind the scenes at their conservation work.
A tour around Dove Cottage and a visit to the award winning Wordsworth Museum where they are currently hosting a number of exhibitions. We will also have access to 3 Degres West – the contemporary art gallery.
There is a gift shop, tea shop and restaurant and several other eating places and watering holes in the village itself.
The entrance fee will be paid by the Library Learning and Development fund but lunch arrangements will be left up to individuals.
The coach will leave the Robinson Library at 8.30am and return to the Library between at 6.30pm.
