Improve your understanding and use of data and statistics in your everyday work – this one day training course will consist of an equal balance of theory, examples and practical application. Content will include:
– The interpretation of commonly used statistical measures.
– Drawing conclusions from data to aid decision making.
– The use of data for target setting and monitoring.
– Collecting and describing data
– Data types and descriptive statistics
– Sampling strategies (includes practical)
– Drawing conclusions from data, target setting and monitoring
– Confidence intervals
– Presentation of data
– Index numbers and percentages
This course is targeted at those in the public sector who regularly use statistics in their work but who do not have a background in statistical analysis, as well as those who have such a background but would like to refresh their skills. The aim is to build confidence in using data in everyday work. The course will be at an introductory level.
