The event will provide information professionals from across the e-information industry with the opportunity to expand their skills and knowledge; and to explore issues of strategic significance across the industry, including the role that e-information professionals play in adding value to the business and enhancing competitive edge through innovation and creative thinking. <\/p>\n<p>This major UKeiG event will bring together experienced practitioners in many fields of e-information to share and discuss the key issues impacting on service delivery across all sectors. Active delegate participation will be key, with opportunities to discuss future issues, share experiences and formulate practical, innovative solutions to emphasise the pivotal role of information professionals in driving, supporting and demonstrating effective information management. Delegates will have the opportunity not just to receive expert guidance on the important issues of the day and the future, but also to discuss practical implementation in breakout sessions. There will also be plenty of time for socialising and informal networking with drinks and a conference dinner on the night of June 16th.<\/p>\n<p>Since 1978 the UK eInformation group has been encouraging the exchange of knowledge about electronic information. The programme will draw on some of the key players and leading lights who have taken the group forward over the years. Speakers include:<br \/>\n*  E4Enterprise: Understanding your customers&#8217; future needs.<br \/>\nJan Wilkinson, University Librarian and Director of the John Rylands University Library Manchester<br \/>\n*  Waves of Innovation: Signposts to a new web of information.<br \/>\nRichard Wallis, Technology Evangelist, Talis<br \/>\n* The constant gardener and the ecosystem at work.<br \/>\nNic Price, Independent adviser in online strategy and user-centred design<br \/>\n*  Managing digital images: Improving the customer experience.<br \/>\nRoger Mills, Head of Science Liaison &amp; Specialist Services, Oxford University Library Services<br \/>\n*  The Long Arm of the E-law, or to put it another way &#8211; You can run but can you hide? Laurence Bebbington, Faculty Team Leader, University of Nottingham<br \/>\n*  Using a risk management approach to build successful e-information business cases.<br \/>\nMartin White, Managing Director, Intranet Focus Ltd<br \/>\n*  Making sense of Web 2.0: a personal and organisational journey.<br \/>\nRoss Scrivener, Programme Manager, Royal College of Nursing<br \/>\n*   When social means business: the potential of social computing tools to support collaborative work as part of the organisational information infrastructure.<br \/>\nHazel Hall, Reader, School of Computing, Napier University<\/p>\n<p>Breakout sessions are intended to be topical, so may change. Risks and Rights &#8211; a discussion.<br \/>\nFacilitator: Charles Oppenheim<br \/>\n* Increasing the value of your intranet.<br \/>\nFacilitator: Martin White<br \/>\n*  A picture is worth a thousand words: practical solutions for<br \/>\nmanaging digital images. Facilitator: Roger Mills<br \/>\n*  The future of online publishing &#8211; are we leading the way?<br \/>\nFacilitator: Nick Evans<br \/>\n* Information security &#8211; key issues for the information<br \/>\nprofession.
