{"id":1759,"date":"2015-06-18T14:31:30","date_gmt":"2015-06-18T13:31:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/ltdev\/?p=1759"},"modified":"2015-06-18T16:08:39","modified_gmt":"2015-06-18T15:08:39","slug":"having-problems-viewing-the-blog","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/ltdev\/2015\/06\/18\/having-problems-viewing-the-blog\/","title":{"rendered":"Having problems viewing the blog?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Some people appear to be having problems with viewing the blog.<\/p>\n<p>This is due to a centralised policy applied by Newcastle University&#8217;s IT Service\u00a0that forces any intranet site viewed through Internet Explorer to be displayed using \u201cCompatibility Mode\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>This will render any site as if you were using Internet Explorer 6 or 7, which is why you are unable to see some parts of the blog or get an error message.<\/p>\n<p>IT Servicedesk responded, &#8220;Internet Explorer is going to be rolled relatively soon and then SAP will support the relevant sites in standards mode, at that point that flag will be flipped.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>If you want to view the blog in Internet Explorer you can disable this setting by following these steps in the browser:<\/p>\n<p>Tools -&gt; Compatibility View Settings, then uncheck \u2018Display intranet sites in Compatibility View\u2019<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/ltdev\/files\/2015\/06\/Compatibility.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"  wp-image-1760 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/ltdev\/files\/2015\/06\/Compatibility-227x300.png\" alt=\"Compatibility\" width=\"365\" height=\"482\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/ltdev\/files\/2015\/06\/Compatibility-227x300.png 227w, https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/ltdev\/files\/2015\/06\/Compatibility.png 608w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 365px) 100vw, 365px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Or you could use a different browser to Internet Explorer.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Some people appear to be having problems with viewing the blog.
