{"id":2913,"date":"2017-03-17T11:26:04","date_gmt":"2017-03-17T11:26:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/ltdev\/?p=2913"},"modified":"2017-03-17T11:28:24","modified_gmt":"2017-03-17T11:28:24","slug":"postgraduate-research-experience-survey-launch","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/ltdev\/2017\/03\/17\/postgraduate-research-experience-survey-launch\/","title":{"rendered":"Postgraduate Research Experience Survey Launch"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncl.ac.uk\/ltds\/student\/opinion\/PRES\/\">Postgraduate Research Experience Survey <\/a>(PRES) will launch\u00a0on Monday 20th March\u00a0and will\u00a0remain open until Thursday 18<sup>th<\/sup> May 2017.<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/ltdev\/files\/2017\/03\/HEA_Surveys_logos_PRES-colour.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2917\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/ltdev\/files\/2017\/03\/HEA_Surveys_logos_PRES-colour.png\" alt=\"hea_surveys_logos_pres-colour\" width=\"387\" height=\"229\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/ltdev\/files\/2017\/03\/HEA_Surveys_logos_PRES-colour.png 387w, https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/ltdev\/files\/2017\/03\/HEA_Surveys_logos_PRES-colour-300x178.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 387px) 100vw, 387px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The PRES is the only UK higher education sector-wide survey to gain insight from postgraduate research students about their learning and supervision experience.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is it?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The survey is designed to capture the opinion of any research student on a doctoral or research master\u2019s course.<\/p>\n<p>It focusses on students\u2019 experiences of;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>supervision<\/li>\n<li>resources<\/li>\n<li>research community<\/li>\n<li>progress and assessment<\/li>\n<li>skills and professional development<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It also considers students\u2019 motivations for taking their chosen programme.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why is it important?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The survey presents an opportunity for students to <strong>Shape the student experience:<\/strong> the feedback we receive is valuable in helping to enhance the postgraduate research experience at Newcastle.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How is it completed?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The PRES is an online survey and can be completed on a mobile device.
