{"id":4001,"date":"2018-04-19T10:43:04","date_gmt":"2018-04-19T09:43:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/ltdev\/?p=4001"},"modified":"2018-04-19T10:56:53","modified_gmt":"2018-04-19T09:56:53","slug":"nuhri-challenge-labs-2018-call-now-open","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/ltdev\/2018\/04\/19\/nuhri-challenge-labs-2018-call-now-open\/","title":{"rendered":"NUHRI Challenge Labs 2018 Call now open"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Newcastle University Humanities Research Institute (NUHRI) invites students to propose an interdisciplinary research challenge<br \/>\nfor summer 2018.<\/p>\n<p>The Challenge Labs scheme is:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>open to all current Newcastle University students (undergraduate or postgraduate);<\/li>\n<li>designed to support interdisciplinary approaches to humanities-related research challenges;<\/li>\n<li>funding projects up to \u00a33k (incl. student bursaries) over a three-week period in summer vacation 2018.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!--more-->Please note that NUHRI defines the humanities very broadly as those academic disciplines that study human culture and the<br \/>\nhuman experience from any period or place, which deal with complex and generally incomplete data, and for which the<br \/>\nmodes of enquiry are typically critical or theoretical rather than purely empirical.
