Advance HE continuing to support the HEA Fellowship network<\/strong><\/h4>\n

As you\u2019ll probably have seen in the press Advance HE is the new agency formed from the merger of the Equality Challenge Unit, the Higher Education Academy and the Leadership Foundation for Higher Education.<\/p>\n

However your Fellowship post-nominals to demonstrate Fellowship status: AFHEA, FHEA, SFHEA, PFHEA will stay the same. If you\u2019re just going through the process of applying for fellowship, it too is not changing and our accreditation for programmes is continuing.<\/p>\n

New or innovative approaches to Learning and Teaching<\/h4>\n

The ULTSEC Innovation fund provides a fantastic opportunity for you to propose and develop projects with real benefit to learning.<\/p>\n

The final deadlines for 2017\/18 are approaching quickly but there is still time to apply:
\nStrategic project proposal submission deadline: Monday 21 May at 4pm<\/strong>
\nResponsive project proposal  submission deadline: Wednesday 30 May at 4pm<\/strong><\/p>\n

Last year’s successful projects included :
\nGame-enhanced learning in biological sciences <\/strong>This project is focused on game-enhanced learning with biological subject content with scope to consider the teaching of more transferable skills (e.g. referencing format).
\nNU InterComs \u2013 Developing Intercultural Competence in the University Community: An action research project <\/strong>Using the latest research in intercultural communication, this project will create an active space to work with our home and international staff\/students that will enhance everyone\u2019s intercultural competence and deliver an inclusive learning experience.<\/p>\n

Student research success at the British Conference of Undergraduate Research<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Thirteen Newcastle University students brilliantly represented all three faculties and their own research at this year\u2019s British Conference of Undergraduate Research (BCUR).<\/p>\n

Evidencing Teaching Excellence as part of promotion applications \u2013 Writing workshop<\/strong>
\nThis workshop is for academic staff thinking of applying for promotion in whole or in part on the basis of their teaching.<\/p>\n

The focus of the workshop is on helping participants to write the best application they can<\/p>\n
