The QAA has moved from a subscription to a\nmembership model, offering various membership services which aim to: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>address sector-wide challenges including safeguarding degree\n     standards<\/li><li>maintain the tools to deliver the highest academic quality,\n     including current and relevant standards and frameworks, such as the\n     Quality Code for Higher Education and revised Subject Benchmark Statements<\/li><li>advance UK higher education\u2019s international leadership in quality\n     assurance and enhancement through our strategic partnership work with\n     agencies across the world<\/li><li>provide an expert and independent voice on quality and standards.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>As a member, we can be part of the Membership Advisory Group\nand network events, and will receive personalized updates on membership\nactivities at an institutional level.&nbsp; Additionally,\nthe University receives preferential rates for non-member QAA events and\nservices such as the QAA annual conference, student engagement events, and the\nData Matters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2019\/20 work that will be undertaken includes new Subject\nBenchmark Statements, in-country reports, viewpoints and research. Output on\ndegree classification workshops, networking events, partnerships and the\nMembership Advisory Group will also be published.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Membership resources including case studies, webinars,\nmaterials, and reports can be accessed after registration (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.qaa.ac.uk\/en\/membership\/resources\">https:\/\/www.qaa.ac.uk\/en\/membership\/resources<\/a>).\nNew outputs from membership work will be published here. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More information can be found on the QAA website: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.qaa.ac.uk\/en\/membership\/qaa-membership\">https:\/\/www.qaa.ac.uk\/en\/membership\/qaa-membership<\/a> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Updates to Subject Benchmark Statements<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>At the end of October 2019, QAA published first updates to\nSubject Benchmark Statements, starting with subjects in STEM and Humanities.\nThese statements describe the academic standards expected of graduates in that\nsubject area (what are students to know, do and understand at the end of their\nstudies). The minor changes to the subject benchmark statements include a\nreflection of the 2018 Quality Code, and ensure that the QA\u2019s subject level\nguidance is aligned with current HE reference points. As the changes were\nminor, no subject expert working groups were convened.
