{"id":5682,"date":"2020-08-06T18:01:28","date_gmt":"2020-08-06T17:01:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/ltdev\/?p=5682"},"modified":"2020-08-06T18:01:30","modified_gmt":"2020-08-06T17:01:30","slug":"congratulations-to-our-new-national-teaching-fellows-and-to-the-winners-of-the-collaborative-award-in-teaching-excellence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/ltdev\/2020\/08\/06\/congratulations-to-our-new-national-teaching-fellows-and-to-the-winners-of-the-collaborative-award-in-teaching-excellence\/","title":{"rendered":"CONGRATULATIONS to our new National Teaching Fellows and to the Winners of the Collaborative Award in Teaching Excellence"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>For the second year in a row, three Newcastle academics have been elected as National Teaching Fellows, at the same time the University has won a Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Awarded by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.advance-he.ac.uk\/\">Advance HE<\/a>, the fellowships recognise\u00a0excellence in enhancing and transforming\u00a0student outcomes and teaching.\u00a0Newcastle University\u2019s\u00a0Dr\u00a0Clare Guilding,\u00a0Professor\u00a0Simon Tate and\u00a0Dr\u00a0Iain Keenan are among this year\u2019s 56 new National Teaching Fellows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There was further success for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncl.ac.uk\/maths-physics\/outreach\/elearning\/#overview\">E-Learning Unit<\/a>\u00a0in the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncl.ac.uk\/maths-physics\/\">School of Mathematics, Statistics &amp; Physics<\/a>\u00a0Development Team received the\u00a0Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence (CATE).
