As a taster here&#8217;s the geophysics of our target area.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/rm8qrm\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/7618\/16636697110_0549367dfb.jpg\" alt=\"Hungerford_excavation_survey (2)\" width=\"500\" height=\"427\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The survey on the left was undertaken recently and shows a marked deterioration in the survey results &#8211; perhaps a result of green waste (for which see James, Liz and Ali&#8217;s paper in <a href=\"http:\/\/onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/doi\/10.1002\/arp.1503\/abstract\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Archaeological Prospection<\/em><\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>The geophysics shows a complicated group of anomalies that we hope will be a trackway and parts of enclosure systems and possibly buildings associated with the villa.
