Under the Researcher Links scheme offered within the Newton Bhabha Fund, the British Council and Newcastle University and West Bengal State University will be holding a workshop on ‘Building Ecological Resilience in Vulnerable Mangroves of the Indian Sundarbans: Sustainable and Equitable Management of Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services in the era of Climate Change‘.
Due to COVID-19 related challenges, the workshop is delivered in a series of three events. (1) UK based workshop, Newcastle University: 28/11 – 01/12/2021; (2) India based workshop with field trip to the Sundarbans, 02/01 – 06/01/2022) and (3) a virtual plenary hosted by Newcastle University (13/01/2022).
The workshop is being coordinated by Dr Marion Pfeifer (Newcastle University) and Dr Krishna Ray (West Bengal State University), and will have contributions from other leading researchers. We have been inviting Early Career Researchers from the UK and India to apply to attend this workshop. All travel and accommodation expenses are covered by the Newton Bhabha Fund Researcher Links programme.
