Explore the space where philosophy and flossing meet!
“The mouth is a weird place,” says the dentist-narrator of Joshua Ferris’s new novel, To Rise Again at a Decent Hour. “Not quite inside and not quite out, not skin and not organ, but something in between: dark, wet, admitting access to an interior most people would rather not contemplate—where cancer starts, where the heart is broken, where the soul may just fail to turn up.”
We received a surprise visit today from the wonderful Alex Rushworth who kindly donated some signed copies of her book for children ‘Open Wide…What’s Inside?’ Beware the revolting effects of those Sugarbugs…eat less sugar, drink less pop, brush twice a day and the rot will stop! These will make a colourful addition to our upcoming collection of resources for dental students, providing useful insight on how to engage with young patients.
