My name is Molly Louise Gittings and i am currently studying a foundation year at Newcastle University, hoping to progress to Mechanical Engineering degree. Coming from a family of all different types of engineering, it is something I grew up around and quickly became passionate about. I previously studied a form of Architectural Engineering, last year, at university in Sheffield – I quickly realised that this wasn’t the right field for me so decided to leave and reapply for Mechanical Engineering. I knew that this would be the area which is best suited to me as I have always been interested in understanding and working out how mechanical products work and how they are constructed. Once graduating from Newcastle University after four years for studying, i hope to go into biomechanics – “the study of the mechanical laws relating to the movement or structure of living organisms” as this is a sector which massively interests and fascinates me.
