My research contributes to\u00a0the growing field of critical gender studies on private military and security companies (PMSCs). <a href=\"https:\/\/books.google.co.uk\/books?id=kDUcBgAAQBAJ&amp;pg=PA12&amp;lpg=PA12&amp;dq=amanda+chisholm+postcolonial+PMSCs&amp;source=bl&amp;ots=9L8x4BzUwz&amp;sig=6T6wL6ILW_K1wmTCJyjBZLZy-1E&amp;hl=en&amp;sa=X&amp;ved=0ahUKEwigyffT8LbPAhWrL8AKHXmAAJAQ6AEISzAJ#v=onepage&amp;q=amanda%20chisholm%20postcolonial%20PMSCs&amp;f=false\">My research, rooted in feminist global political economy (GPE) and feminist critical security studies<\/a>, has developed the existing critical security research on privatisation of security by\u00a0offering <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tandfonline.com\/doi\/abs\/10.1080\/14616742.2013.781441\">ethnographic insights into critical security studies from a postcolonial gender framing<\/a> thereby incorporating race and colonial histories as two important analytics in understanding the globalization of private security.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/books.google.co.uk\/books?id=ZD2vCgAAQBAJ&amp;pg=PT213&amp;lpg=PT213&amp;dq=amanda+chisholm+postcolonial+PMSCs&amp;source=bl&amp;ots=235-JkDZa-&amp;sig=_24arYjNmuy6jT17L7NeLTBQPdI&amp;hl=en&amp;sa=X&amp;ved=0ahUKEwigyffT8LbPAhWrL8AKHXmAAJAQ6AEIPDAG#v=onepage&amp;q=amanda%20chisholm%20postcolonial%20PMSCs&amp;f=false\">I remain motivated by the ways in which race, class and gender intersect and make certain subjectivities possible whilst foreclosing on others<\/a>. To this end, my future research plans involve examining how global South migrant security labourers negotiate, challenge and resist dominant understandings and representations of themselves in global security. I am committed to researching through intersectionalities of race, class and gender and combining <a href=\"https:\/\/www.academia.edu\/16387868\/Ethnography_in_Conflict_Zones_The_Perils_of_Researching_Private_Security_Contractors\">qualitative methodologies<\/a>. Some of my recent publications include:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tandfonline.com\/doi\/pdf\/10.1080\/14747731.2016.1155796\">Everyday Matters in Global Private Security Supply Chains<\/a>\u00a0(co-authored with Saskia Stachowitsch) and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/sdi.sagepub.com\/content\/45\/4\/349\">Marketing the Gurkhas Security Package<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I am excited to be involved in this project and to be working alongside some fantastic experts in the field including\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncl.ac.uk\/gps\/staff\/profile\/alexhughes.html#background\">Dr. Alex Hughes<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncl.ac.uk\/gps\/staff\/profile\/rachelwoodward.html#background\">Prof. Rachel Woodward<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/qatar.sfs.georgetown.edu\/profile\/zahra-babar\">Dr. Zahar Babar,<\/a>\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncl.ac.uk\/gps\/staff\/profile\/wenlin.html#background\">Dr. Wen Lin<\/a>\u00a0and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cilecenter.org\/en\/staff\/\">Prof. Ray Jureidini.<\/a> The world class academic team are complimented by\u00a0industry leaders in ethical recruitment and management practices including\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/tristan-forster-55a1677\">Tristan Forster<\/a>, CEO\u00a0of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.fsi-worldwide.com\/\">FSI Worldwide<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/bassam-al-tahtamouni-01b10019\">Bassam Al Tahtamouni<\/a>\u00a0of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.rtcgroupplc.co.uk\/company\/ata-gss\/\">Global Staffing Solutions (GSS)<\/a>\u00a0and internationally recognised labour advocacy and human rights champion,\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Mustafa_Qadri\">Mustafa Qadri<\/a>.
