Leech, Old Library and Architecture planned

Following our 2 week change freeze to allow clearing activities to take place, we’re now in the process of planning our next building migrations.

Medical School Leech Building will be first, with its migration scheduled for August 28th between 0700-0900. This work will involve around 20 solid minutes of downtime followed by a period of instability while we perform some admin work.

The Old Library Building  its migration scheduled for September 4th between 0700-0900. Again this work will involve around 20 solid minutes of downtime followed by a period of instability while we perform some admin work.

Following these two we’re bringing Architecture Building’s migration forward to the week commencing September 8th.

Dental School and Stephenson Complete

This week the network team have completed another two migrations in the Digital Campus Network Upgrade Project.

The Stephenson Building was upgraded on Tuesday morning, and included an upgrade to the local network feeding the Tree Cluster. This upgrade will enable the Cluster Room Support team to build and update more machine at the same time in the busy summer period.

The Dental School was successfully migrated on Wednesday morning, which is now linked back to the new core campus network at 10GE. This means the majority of the medical school has now been migrated, leaving only the Leech building.

There will now be a two week freeze to allow for Clearing related work to continue without any disruption. Following this the next two building migrations will be:

  • Week Commencing 25-08-2014 – Medical School – Leech Building
  • Week Commencing 01-09-2014 – The Old Library
