I was lucky enough to get funding together to attend this years International conference on Electrical Drives and Machines in Miami. There was a big cohort of us from Newcastle, and I was author on 6 papers. This month marked the end of the AEMTA project – a 3 year collaborative work on the development of Advanced Electrical Machines Technologies for Aerospace. A great project where we strived to deliver innovative machine design. Overall project is described here. Sadly, the end of this project also represents the end of Steve Jordan’s time at the university, and he has moved on to work for Hoganas in Sweden.
