We are the Newcastle Institute for Social Renewal. The Newcastle Institute for Social Renewal is the University’s response to the challenges facing society today. By bringing together our research with a social purpose we can make a difference to how individuals and communities thrive in times of rapid transformational change. As one of Newcastle University’s three Societal Challenge Themes it brings to life the University vision of a civic university with a global reputation for academic excellence.

Social Renewal is a wide and varied term, and sometimes it’s not easy to understand what it really means. By hosting this blog we’re hoping to show that Social Renewal is important to each and every one of us, in ways you might not realise.
