There are only six weeks to go until the opening night of HMS Pinafore, so I figured that would be a good start for the first blog post of the year. As it is exam period here at Newcastle, rehearsals are mainly taking the form of ‘revision’ – as if everyone isn’t doing enough revision already!

The publicity drive has officially started now, with the poster almost complete and a Facebook event set up. We expect tickets to be on sale in the next two weeks – keep an eye on the website!

On the orchestra front, the orchestration has been specially ordered from the USA and has been delivered. Our musical director, Mark Edwards, has also assembled some of Newcastle’s finest musicians for our orchestra. We can’t wait to practice with them!

Hopefully as the weeks roll on we will take a few pictures from rehearsals and keep you all updated on the progress!
