The Nurture-U project is looking to improve student wellbeing and mental health through researching what works across the whole spectrum of difficulties faced by students.
We are a collaboration of six UK universities that are working together for a 4-year project funded by the United Kingdom Research and Innovation Adolescence, Mental Health and the Developing Mind funding call.
The project involves a number of research projects, including a longitudinal student mental health survey, clinical trials of online help for students with anxiety or depression and for students at high risk of developing depression, introducing mental health literacy into the curriculum, a digital mental health toolkit to help students monitor their wellbeing and reach out for the right support at the right time, and investigating how to develop compassionate campuses.
