These are intended to be a supportive space to discuss career choices and plans – all welcome! NU Women is partnering with NEST (North East Solidarity & Teaching (https://www.northeastsolidarityandteaching.com/) ), a student volunteer organisation that supports refugees and asylum seekers, and NUSU, to help local refugees and asylum seekers. NEST is currently in need of clothes and sanitary/hygiene (pre-packaged, please). If you have any items that you are able to donate, please take them to the Reception Desk at King’s Gate (and thanks to them for hosting this) throughout the month of March. The NU Women interns will work with NEST to get these to the people who need this. I would appreciate it if you could circulate to other mailing lists as well, so we can have as many donations as possible. Finally, this is the last newsletter for a while, as the EDI Sister Networks (NU Women, Rainbow, NU-REN, NU Carers, NU Parents, DIG) are transitioning to a new shared intern structure (see below for job adverts and do share with students), and comms will be operating differently – more details soon! NU WOMEN NEWSLETTER 15 January 2023 Happy New Year! A reminder about the first event in 2023, which Kate Chedgzoy will be leading. Some NU Women members have asked for opportunities to expand/share crafting and knitting knowledge, and Kate (who is a superbly accomplished knitter) is leading a “Knit and Natter” session on January 25^th (4-6).
