Steps that I followed for the creation of the site

Menu and static pages

First, I tried to adapt the site from the practical to fulfill the requirements of this assignment. That means, that I had to change the wallpaper of the blog and recreate the menu of the site according to the guidance for the coursework. From the menu management page, I created the new categories for the new menu options and the subcategories for the review page.

Secondly, after I had finish everything that concerned the appearance of the site, I started writing the static homepage and the “about” page. In the first page, I mentioned some general information about the content of the blog, while the second page has information about my studies, my personal interests and my future aspirations.

Reviews

Thirdly, I started writing the reviews. The first review was taken from the practical and lightly modified with instructions about the learning tool usage. I also highlighted some expressions in the text, in order to make it easier for the reader to understand the content of the review, the advantages and the defects of the application. In addition, I wrote the references in Harvard style.

Also, I wrote the second review that was about the Newcastle University, since it is the one I have been using a lot lately. I followed the same method in writing style I used in the first review, with the difference that most of the information comes from my personal experience.

Some final touches in the coursework, was to put some tags for the search engine optimization, to change the permalink in to make it easier to be found for the readers to find the review pages.

Difficulties

The most difficult part in the assignment was the writing of the reviews, because it is difficult to give so much information in a review without making difficult and dull for the readers. That is the reason I made some phrases in to bold letters, to highlight the main things in each review. Additionally, I try to make it convenient for the readers, so that they won’t have to read the whole instruction text for the first review by embedding some videos.

Easiest part

The easiest part of thing assignment was the appearance of the site, because WordPress is a service made to be user friendly for bloggers, which means that everything is made easy so that you don’t have to know programming to create your own blog.
