{"id":2122,"date":"2014-01-12T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2014-01-12T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost\/wptest\/2023\/09\/06\/the-wolf-of-wall-street\/"},"modified":"2014-01-12T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2014-01-12T00:00:00","slug":"the-wolf-of-wall-street-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/philosophy\/2014\/01\/12\/the-wolf-of-wall-street-2\/","title":{"rendered":"The Wolf of Wall Street"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Project Aims:<br \/>\n\u2022To distinguish the moral issues within the life story of Jordan Belfort and explore whether the initial presumption that he is solely to blame for such actions is completely accurate.<br \/>\n\u2022Can philosophers such as Nietzsche explain such actions through their own reasoning and logic about how people operate?<br \/>\n\u2022Can a true objective answer be found for such moral dilemmas or is it too subjective to conclude with one judgement?<br \/>\n\u2022Assessing the overlooked factors that aren\u2019t so apparent when first understanding Belfort\u2019s past.   <\/p>\n<p>Philosophy:<br \/>\n\u2022Apollonian vs. Dionysian: Nietzsche\u2019s division between the two realms of approaching the world. A good combination of both will help you lead a sustained lifestyle, whereas if you fall too deep into either you risk becoming \u2018too boring\u2019 or \u2018out of control\u2019. Throughout the study of Belfort\u2019s life this concept is very applicable because he certainly experiences the description of both realms and consequentially allows the Dionysian to be the downfall of his reign.  <\/p>\n<p>\u2022Cultural Relativism and how it can help people to understand the differences between certain environments and how such external influences play a vital role when making such moral judgements. <\/p>\n<p>\u2022Immanuel Kant\u2019s absolute laws on ethics.
