She has been on a summer placement working to deliver perfectionism workshops to athletes and students in the north east area, now in her final year she is looking to expand the volume of people she helps overcome perfectionism. She is passionate about debunking beliefs and changing misconceptions about perfectionism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Faith Slack <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/plipproject\/files\/2023\/06\/Faith-PLIP-576x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-70\" width=\"120\" height=\"215\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Faith is a final year BSc Joint honours student studying Psychology and Sport and Exercise science. She has also been on a summer placement working to deliver perfectionism workshops to athletes and students in the north east area. She enjoys seeing the progress people make across the  two sessions and challenging participants to think deeper and confront perfectionistic habits that they have.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Amelia Hooper<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/plipproject\/files\/2023\/10\/Year-3-Photo.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-127\" width=\"137\" height=\"143\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Amelia is a final year BSc Joint Honours Psychology &amp; Sports Science student, who is returning from a Professional Placement Year as a Sport Psychology Research Assistant at Newcastle University. She was heavily involved with the larger delivery and athlete adaptation of the PLIP workshops, piloting and testing with a range of sports including hockey, rugby and rowing. She presented this project alongside Alice and Tracy at York St. John University&#8217;s Motivation, Performance and Wellbeing days in March 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alice Points<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/plipproject\/files\/2023\/10\/Alice-profile-picture-1024x1006.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-128\" width=\"159\" height=\"163\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Alice is a final year BSc Joint Honours Psychology &amp; Sports Science student,\u00a0who is returning from a Professional Placement Year as a Sport Psychology Research Assistant at Newcastle University, alongside Amelia. Her interest in the power of mindsets stemmed from years of competitive swimming growing up. She has delivered the workshops to large and small groups of students and athletes, both from within and outside the University, and loves how the workshops bring perfectionistic people together in realising they\u2019re not alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Scarlett carling <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/plipproject\/files\/2023\/10\/IMG_7699-671x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-125\" width=\"114\" height=\"175\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/plipproject\/files\/2023\/10\/IMG_7699-671x1024.jpg 671w, https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/plipproject\/files\/2023\/10\/IMG_7699-197x300.jpg 197w, https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/plipproject\/files\/2023\/10\/IMG_7699-768x1172.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/plipproject\/files\/2023\/10\/IMG_7699-1007x1536.jpg 1007w, https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/plipproject\/files\/2023\/10\/IMG_7699.jpg 1295w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 114px) 100vw, 114px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I am a final year BSc Psychology student, having returned from a placement year as an research assistant in autism and a summer internship investigating barriers and facilitators to delivering education-based mental health interventions. I am excited about encouraging students to challenge myths surrounding perfectionism and&nbsp; find healthier routes to their goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kate Maxwell-Armstrong<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/plipproject\/files\/2023\/10\/IMG_5684-934x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-126\" width=\"141\" height=\"159\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Kate is a third-year BSc Psychology student who is currently on her Professional Placement Year working as a Sport Psychology Research Assistant at Newcastle University. Her interest in sport psychology is heavily influenced by her experiences of playing in national squash competitions, growing up. This has led her to further explore topics such as perfectionism, transitions in sport, and team cohesion. In addition to sport psychology, Kate also has interests in social psychology, drug addiction, and forensic psychology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Maxime Levasseur<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/plipproject\/files\/2023\/10\/Maxime-Photo-794x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-131\" width=\"158\" height=\"219\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Maxime (she\/her) is a final year BSc Honours student studying Psychology. She has worked as a Research Assistant throughout the duration of her degree, and is excited to contribute to this cognitive dissonance intervention for perfectionism. Maxime hopes to provide lasting positive impact in her role as a Peer Leader, to everyone undertaking the PLIP intervention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr Tracy Donachie<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ncl.ac.uk\/sportpsychologyhub\/files\/2022\/12\/image-2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"166\" height=\"170\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Tracy is the supervisor for the PLIP project. Tracy&nbsp;is a Lecturer in Sport and Exercise Psychology in the School of Psychology. Tracy is a Chartered membership with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA). Tracy has over 20 years\u2019 experience of working in applied sport environments as a semi-professional footballer, a coach, and a deliverer of performance psychology to athletes, teams, and coaches.
