We&#8217;re moving to the new University VLE on the 31 July 2020."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>We are getting closer to the 31 July 2020 when all access to Blackboard ends for colleagues and students and we go fully live with Canvas.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u200b\u200bWhat can I do to prepare for the transition to Canvas?&nbsp; <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>There are 5 key steps that you can follow to be ready for the move to Canvas and get the most out of this new platform:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/services.ncl.ac.uk\/digitallearning\/canvas\/colleagues\/canvas-ready\/\" target=\"_blank\">Colleagues: Be Canvas Ready, 5 Key Steps<\/a>&nbsp; <\/li><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/services.ncl.ac.uk\/digitallearning\/canvas\/students\/becanvasready\/\" target=\"_blank\">Students: Be Canvas Ready, 5 Key Steps<\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What training and support is available?&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>All&nbsp;students and&nbsp;colleagues have access to\u202fCanvas\u202fand you can log in at\u202f<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/canvas.ncl.ac.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/canvas.ncl.ac.uk<\/a>\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Log in\u202fusing your\u202fnormal username and password.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Students&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>When&nbsp;you log in you will have access to a\u202f<a href=\"https:\/\/ncl.instructure.com\/courses\/19348\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Getting to Know Canvas\u202fcourse<\/a>. This will take you through the key areas of Canvas and includes screencasts of the Canvas interface and how to submit an assignment.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Colleagues&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you log in you will see an online\u202f<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/ncl.instructure.com\/courses\/76\" target=\"_blank\">Canvas\u202fOrientation course<\/a>. This is a comprehensive online training resource developed for all Newcastle University colleagues and can be accessed 24\/7 from your Canvas dashboard.
